MARKETING - Assessing the Sports Betting Opportunity
With new sports betting legislation pending in 20 states and a major Supreme Court decision due in June that could open the doors to legal and regulated sports betting in casinos nationally, there is no time like the present for casino marketers to assess this long-restricted segment of the gaming world. Where it has been legal, specifically Nevada, sports betting has opened the door to mobile gaming and, around periods of peak interest, brings with it higher room rates, increased F&B revenue, increased gaming revenue and holds the potential to be a key leverage point for expanding loyalty programs. Marketing will be a key to success in any legalized sports betting scenario because even if casinos do get the chance to offer regulated sports betting they will face strong, unregulated competition from the Internet. In this session, hear from executives with hands-on knowledge of the sports betting market what opportunities and challenges it represents for you as casino marketers.
